I spoke too soon...

It figures that as soon as I decide to start working on my novel again... southern Illinois gets hit by an inland hurricane!

Our town was where it peaked, but we're fine. We were exceptionally lucky that nothing major happened to our house. A little bit of damage to our back porch roof and some hail damage on the cars, but overall not bad.

We don't have power and don't expect it back anytime soon. Had to drive 20 miles to find a town with power and wi-fi so we could let friends know we were all right.

I don't have much time as we need to head out and buy some supplies while we're in an area with power, but I just wanted to let everyone know where I am if I'm not able to respond for a week or more.

Hopefully power will be back up middle of next week, but we're not holding our breaths.

So, until I blog again...
Talk 2ya later...

Whoa! I've never heard of inland hurricanes. And I live in south-western Illinois. >.<
*whimpers*
I thought all I had to worry about were tornadoes.
I hope you and your family are safe!

Well, we packed up and made the 6 hour+ trip to my in-laws. As we expected, the power company decided that our town was the worst hit and that it would be Thursday or Friday at the earliest that we would get power back.

It would've been tough making it until Tuesday, and impossible until Friday. Well, without a generator or a lot of trips out to buy food and do laundry, Friday evening was going to be my laundry night so we had nothing left. *whimper*

Thanks for the thoughts and the concern. We are safe and back in a house with power for the week at least.

I am a terrible cyber-friend. If you've read me at all lately, you know I, too, have been in a funk. But mine is all self-induced. I am so sorry about your son's diagnosis. As a therapist, I know a lot about autism. Although trying, it doens't have to be "the end" of all your hopes and dreams. I know you will do all needed to make him the little man you dreamed of.

Let me know if you ened anything!!!
